It is now widely recognised that the media plays an important role in reinforcing democratisation and strengthening of civil society.
CFD believes that quality and professionalism directly enhance the credibility, effectiveness and influence of the media. We also believe that in turn, these capacities are essential to mainstreaming principles of freedom of expression and freedom of information rights in evolving democracies.
In support of these objectives we design and run innovative and effective training projects linking reporters with senior editors, journalists and experts, who share knowledge, experience and transfer valuable skills.
